Ready at Dawn, the developer of the upcoming PS4 exclusive The Order: 1886, has built the new title with sequences and more stories in mind, as players will only explore one aspect of the all-new universe.

The Order: 1886 is one of the most intriguing all-new games set to appear for the PlayStation 4 this year, and developer Ready at Dawn has already dazzled fans with some impressive gameplay videos, not to mention the novel premise of the game.

While talking with GamesTM, the studio's Creative Director, Ru Weerasuriya, has once again summed up the novel premise of The Order: 1886 and its core conflict that pits humans against half-breeds.

"The Order is an ancient order of knights, basically. They were first setup to protect humanity. More than a millennia ago, there was a split in humanity that causes one side to go on as humans and the other side to eventually become half-breeds.

"The half-breeds start to wage war with the humans for the usual ideas of control, dominion, supremacy and survival. Neither side backs down and an all-out war breaks out between humans and half-breeds. It’s not until the industrial revolution that humans build the weapons capable of taking the war to the half-breeds."

The developer has revealed that 1886 will focus on Sir Galahad, the main protagonist, as players will get to explore the all-new universe through his eyes and see how he evolves alongside his allies during the story.

"The game is certainly Galahad’s story," Weerasuriya added. "It’s viewed from his point of view. There are lots of things happening around him, and one of his roles for us is as a vessel for the player to really understand the story and the world. But you do see the evolution of his character throughout the game and throughout the plot."

Last but not least, Ready at Dawn has also confirmed that The Order: 1886 universe is a rich one that can easily fit more stories and sequels, if fans desire such a thing.

"We’ve built this IP to be much bigger than just one game. There are stories that have been told in the game but there are stories that haven’t and stories about what happens after the events of this game. Absolutely, though, I would love to get the chance to tell more stories with sequels and other things we can do with the IP."

The Order: 1886 is set to debut this fall exclusively for the PlayStation 4. You can bet that Sony and Ready at Dawn will eagerly promote it at major events like E3 2014 or Gamescom 2014 this summer.
