The Order: 1886, the upcoming PS4 exclusive from Ready at Dawn, includes a lot of different weapons, a rather lengthy story in terms of the time period covered, not to mention fun surprises that should delight players but keep them in the experience.

The Order: 1886 is the first major PS4 exclusive of 2015, and both developer Ready at Dawn and publisher Sony are eager to hype up the third-person shooter ahead of its actual debut later this month.

The new shooter includes many different weapons

After sharing plenty of screenshots, videos and details, the studio's Creative Director, Ru Weerasuriya, talks with BCA, via DualShockers, about the actual shooter elements from the upcoming game, emphasizing that there will be plenty of different guns in The Order: 1886.

From various handguns, to rifles, combo guns, and even sci-fi weapons that fire lightning or thermite, players will be able to take out foes in many different ways. Weerasuriya even goes so far as to say that he hasn't really counted the guns in the game, so players will have lots of favorite devices to find.

Some guns, like the TS-27, can be used to access areas by forcing doors, while others can be used to drastically take out foes, such as the shotgun that can dismember enemies when up close.

The story includes plenty of interesting elements

The developer also emphasizes that the main characters – the knights – don't have superpowers. They're only able to live for hundreds of years because of how they interacted with the blackwater, which will be detailed throughout the story of the game.

Speaking of the plot, Weerasuriya says that it will cover hundreds of years but most of the action takes place 1886, which sees something important happen for the whole universe. He doesn't just say what will go on during the story, so players will have to see for themselves when the title debuts this month.

There will also be plenty of collectibles that further flesh out the game's world, such as newspapers, that can be found throughout the environments, not to mention a few "fun things" that will delight fans, while keeping them inside the title. As such, don't expect any immersion-breaking Easter eggs.

The Order: 1886 rolls out on February 20 around the world for the PS4.
