The Order: 1886 developer Ready at Dawn confirms that players will be able to use stealth to get around enemies or get the drop on unsuspecting foes, and while reckless behavior won't be punished all that much, there is the risk of not being able to complete the game if specific characters are killed.

The Order: 1886 is among the most intriguing games that are set to appear for the PS4 platform in 2015, as the exclusive experience tells the story of an alternate universe where, in the Victorian era, a group of powerful humans take on all sorts of monsters using period-specific weapons and gear.

The title has already received a lot of impressive gameplay videos focusing heavily on the film-like visuals, and developer Ready at Dawn has made it clear that it's going for both great visuals and great gameplay, as it won't sacrifice one for the other.

After going in depth about the different mechanics, especially the shooter ones, a few more details about its variety have just appeared.

A stealth mechanic is available in The Order:1886

Now, during an interview with IGN.ovh, Creative Director Ru Weerasuriya confirms that there is a stealth mechanic in the game to ensure that all types of players can go into the action-adventure experience and have a good time, no matter their preferred style.

Besides actually having a stealth system, Weerasuriya confirms that it's quite a diverse mechanic and the game doesn't force players to do certain things while in stealth mode.

"Stealth is used basically when you don’t want to be seen in those areas; you don’t want to be heard. You’ll have different ways of using stealth in different missions actually. You can kill people while you're being stealthy or you can try not to; the scenarios are pretty diverse when it comes to stealth," he explains.

Players might get penalized for reckless behavior

While Ready at Dawn doesn't want to penalize players who are a bit more reckless and go in guns blazing, there are situations where the game can't be completed due to certain murders, according to the director.

"I won't say penalized but you have to be careful how you do it. If you go all-out and try to kill somebody you might not be able to finish the game. If you’re found out because you just tried to blast through everything, more likely than not you’ll probably get caught," he adds.

The Order: 1886 launches next year exclusive for the PS4 and you can bet that more details will be shared soon enough.
