The Onion Pokes Fun at Zebras – Video

In yet another episode of their “Horrifying Planet” series, The Onion mockingly presents zebras as being the ultimate prey, as opposed to lions and the like, which naturally are the ultimate predators.

According to this video, zebras have only one purpose in life, which is to roam the savannas and wait for various animals species to hunt them down and feed on them.

Apparently, this is precisely why they have those very distinctive patterns on their body: to make sure they are easily spotted, so that they can fulfill their mission.

Joking aside, the fact that zebras are “the ultimate prey” is of utmost importance for several natural habitats worldwide, precisely because these herbivores support the predators population.

To cut a long story short: should zebras suddenly disappear, odds are that lions and crocodiles would face a very similar fate sooner than one might expect.
