Following a wide range of news regarding the new version of Microsoft's Windows Phone platform, called Mango, is time for some more serious business, such as the release of an application for the mobile OS, one that would offer users access to TheOnion.com.

Dubbed The Onion 7, the new mobile application would put Windows Phone 7 users in touch with the latest news from the website.

Of course, we're talking about an American entertainment newspaper, and the news there are meant to make users smile, but the fact that there is an application to provide the said features is no joke.

It can be found in the Windows Phone Marketplace here. Through it, one would be able to access the latest news, videos, and more, all straight from the mobile phone in their hands.

“Wait, what? It's not real news? If you're a fan of The Onion, get your daily fix of breaking news, video, radio-news and more in this streamlined app,” the application's description reads.

“Did you LOL at the article about the area cat that sued over being sent to the doghouse? Save it for later, post it on facebook, or email it to a friend quickly and easily.”

Not only would the app offer access to the said posts on the website, but it would also offer users the possibility to share what they like with friends via social networking sites, or through messages, along with the option to save articles as a favorites.

Radio-news and video-news would also be available for Windows Phone users through the new application, and various customization features as well.

The layout is simple and intuitive, offering headlines from the website in various categories, including breaking news, video news, radio-news, and sports. Users would also be able to search for article straight from the application.

The mobile software is not an official application from the website, it seems. The Onion 7 comes from crazy-hot solutions.

Head over to the Windows Phone Marketplace to download the app, or have a look at some of the screenshots available with it to make an idea of what it looks like.
