Novell has launched the UNIX to Linux Program - Springboard to go after another slice of the UNIX market. "The Program has been specifically designed to enable new and existing Novell ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) and partners to take full advantage of the resources of Novell, as they capitalize on the migration away from UNIX."

The program is aimed at educating and building
awareness of the rapidly growing Linux market among ISVs and partners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Registration and participation in the Springboard Program includes a six months free silver level subscription to the Novell ISV Partner program, a free Novell Linux Training Self-Study Kit, entitlement to place products in the Novell online Partner Guide, access to developer support, free Novell SUSE Linux certification of up to three applications, access to the Novell Linux Software and SDK, and free access to "many invaluable Porting & Migration whitepapers and tools."

"Ensuring that ISVs and partners in EMEA are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond to their customers Linux requirements is critical if they are to take advantage of the enormous opportunity Linux presents," says Trish Barwick, marketing and channel manager, Novell SA. "This programme will provide them with the support they need to increase their margins from Linux-related activities."
