The Nintendo DS is, without a doubt, one of the most popular handheld consoles out there, having won over a huge amount of fans all over the world. Its slick two screens, which are touch sensitive, and modern design made it very popular with all age groups and the vast number of games developed for it have transformed it into one of the must-have handhelds for any gamer.

After the original DS launched, Nintendo thought that some modifications could be made, so the Nintendo DS Lite came out a while after the first one. Now, with the new and improved DSi already launched in the company's native country, Japan, North American and European customers can hardly wait for the new version of the handheld to hit their own territories.

As a token of appreciation for the fans’ patience, Nintendo has just announced that it will release two special versions of the DS Lite, on November 28, otherwise known as Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. North Americans will be able to get their hands on two special red or blue colored consoles, each bundled with its own game at the price of 149.99 dollars.

The first bundle will consist of a special red DS, which is badged with an M for Nintendo's very popular Mario character and packaged with the game New Super Mario Bros. The second bundle will be a DS that sports the Ice Blue color, which will come with a copy of Brain Age: Train Your Brain Minutes a Day. This edition will also come with a special carrying case, in the same color as the DS.

"Nintendo DS is both the most affordable and the most popular video game system in this generation," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "These limited-edition bundles make great gifts for first-time Nintendo DS players and collectors alike."

This isn't the only thing in store for DS fans, as the company promises to launch several interesting games that will certainly attract a lot of casual gamers. Among these titles are Pokemon Ranger: Shadow of Almia, Kirby Super Star Ultra, Personal Trainer: Cooking or Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir.
