The Next American Idol Naked Pictures Scandal?

I just love myself a good American Idol naked pictures scandal. In fact, we all love a good scandal, the more infamous the better. But I must say, the all-American talent show who made stars the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood also turned, say... Jessica Sierra into an unlikely star, despite the fact that she didn't actually win anything. Well, unless they give a prize for "most screwed-up knocked-up celebrity wannabe who also managed to star in her very own sex tape". Yes, that award definitely goes to Jessica. Anyway, the point I was trying to make takes the form of a public appeal: please, if anyone reading this article is considering going on American Idol next year please, please from the bottom of my heart, don't take any naked pictures of yourselves.

I don't know where this "scandalous naked photos" trend is coming from, but it's definitely been around for quite a while, never got old and is still going at full speed. I just can't understand people's fascination with posing naked for the camera and then showing (actually, giving) the photos to someone else. I understand narcissism, exhibitionism and curiosity, but I sure can't see why after you took (or allowed someone else to take) some naked shots of yourself, you shouldn't keep them in your camera / computer longer than it takes to look at them and exclaim "oh, God, look at how big my a*s is!" Apparently, some people think differently. In any case, it would seem that yet another one of this year's top 12 Idol finalists is causing controversy – skunk-haired Amanda Overmyer.

Word on the street is, someone from Amanda's home state of Indiana is shopping around controversial photos of the singer. "Someone in her home state of Indiana is shopping nude pictures of Amanda-and they’ve been offered big money... If those pictures pop up on the Internet, Idol will have another huge scandal on it’s hands", said a source. Well, what can I say – there's a good chance this isn't true, and I do hope Amanda was careful not to email her friends or boyfriend naked photos of herself. You know, like Vanessa Hudgens did. But since Amanda hasn't been signed up by Disney yet, I think we can assume we're safe for the moment at least. In any case, the skunk hair and nudity really don't go hand in hand. Maybe if Amanda dyed her hair a different color. Yeah, that would work. Kidding.
