In addition to the Xbox 360 console, the new Xbox 360 Wireless Controller available from Microsoft can be used to play games on Windows 7 computers.

Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc showcased the new peripheral on the Extreme Windows Blog, a new destination designed to cater to Windows PC enthusiast which went live at the start of this week.

Gamers can already purchase the brand new Xbox 360 Wireless Controller and take advantage of the redesigned D-Pad, capable of transforming itself to either a cross or a disc.

“If you happen to have an Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver connected to your Windows PC, guess what? You can use this new controller with your PC to play games just like you could with the older Xbox 360 Wireless Controller.

“So if you’re like me and prefer using a controller for PC gaming, this might be a good step-up especially with the transforming D-Pad. You can also use the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller to play the in-box games in Windows 7 like Chess Titans,” LeBlanc explained.

According to the Redmond company, the new controller can be acquired from any retailer that carries Xbox 360 accessories.

As the software giant announced previously, the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller with transforming D-Pad is a part of the Play & Charge Kit, which features a price tag of $64.99.

Also, make sure to read the additional posts on the Extreme Windows Blog, an online destination that is designed for the aristocracy of Windows users.

“What exactly is an enthusiast you might ask? For Extreme Windows – we are defining enthusiast as someone with the following characteristics:

◦Passion for Technology – Someone who (IS) excited for technology and is always interested in learning more about and using the latest technology.

◦Understands the value of technology – Someone who is willing to spend what it takes to get top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art, and bleeding-edge technology.

◦Is a source of knowledge for others – Someone whose family, friends, co-workers and others rely on for great technology advice,” LeBlanc said earlier this week.
