Eidos presents the next generation of casual games

You have probably heard, back in March, about Eidos' promise to bring us the most addictive title ever released on the Nintendo DS. If you haven't heard anything about it, check our previous coverage of the game, named Soul Bubbles and get ready to join the action because, by the end of the week, you will get the chance to purchase it at the nearest game stores (if you live in Europe, that is!).

In Soul Bubbles, players will become the apprentice of a shaman whose job is to guide lost souls to safety. And how do you transport souls? In bubbles, of course! However, with or without bubbles, it is not at all an easy task: the worlds you have to take them through are increasingly hostile and dangerous - which means that only a person with great skills will be able to succeed.

However, even though we have a rather silly story, the game itself really seems to be the next big thing on the DS: players will draw the bubbles with the stylus, then use the same method to cut or join them together. You will also get the chance to deflate or fill them with different substances, such as water or gas and guide them through traps, fires and all sorts of other dangers.

"Soul Bubbles is an extremely creative and unique title which really pushes the physics capabilities of the Nintendo DS," said Lou Fawcett, Head of Casual Games at Eidos. "The reaction from the press so far has been incredible and we're hoping the public are going to love Soul Bubbles every bit as much as we do."

The game comes with 40 levels for you to explore in eight different words and it will push the physics capabilities of the Nintendo DS to the maximum. There is no information, however, about the retail price of Soul Bubbles.
