The Redmond Company has revealed via the Microsoft Download Center the general availability of the Software Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 release candidate 1. Formerly dubbed WinFX, the Microsoft .NET
Framework 3.0 is designed to be the next step in the evolution of the managed code programming model for the Windows operating system.

"It combines the power of the .NET Framework 2.0 with new technologies for building applications that have visually compelling user experiences, seamless communication across technology boundaries, and the ability to support a wide range of business processes. These new technologies are Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation, and Windows CardSpace (formerly code named "Infocard")," explained Microsoft.

The Redmond Company announced that support for the Windows XP and Windows server 2003 is within its development plans; the .NET Framework 3.0 will be an integer part of the Windows Vista operating system.

"To start the installation process, you will need to run the download file; this will initiate the installation of the .NET Framework 3.0 Release Candidate; If you have troubles with the download manager, you can download the entire package for x86 or for x64 which are both .EXE files," explained Microsoft.
