Banned, leaked... what's next?

This whole leaking affair is really getting disgusting... There was a time when gaming journalists were the absolute exclusive owners of the first demos and copies of famous titles. Now, we're constantly beaten by those hackers and downloaders who manage to get the game before we do... Just think about Silent Hill Origins and our joy of playing it while attending the Games Convention in Leipzig. Exclusivity? Not this time, since the demo was already on torrent sites, when I got to play it for the first time at GC 07.

Yeah, so much for a preview... Manhunt 2 is yet another victim of banning, leaking and God knows what else, as it's probably the most tormented and criticized title of the past years. First it got banned in most countries, then when the censored version was ready Rockstar's plans got ruined by this leak. The game's producer officially admitted that the title was leaked on the Internet by the employee of a fellow company, who had access to one of the preview copies.

Hmm, this is exactly what they said when the demo version of Silent Hill Origins was leaked and one of Konami's employees was blamed for that. How could this have happened? We're guessing that the leaker was probably the employee of one of Rockstar's partners, or maybe a representative of the media. Manhunt 2 has got to be the most unlucky game of the year, since it got banned by the BBFC, not once, but twice, even after it got approved by the ESRB.

Does it really matter now that Manhunt 2 will soon be launched in the few countries that will probably receive it well? Most of the gamers must be really angry right now, because of the title's huge delay, the banning affair and the leak... So much for the utopian gaming society...
