"The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" for Mobiles Is Out

First announced back in May, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" for mobile phones is now available from Gameloft, the well-known game developer and publisher.

Coming as the official mobile game for the Universal Pictures film with the same title, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" is released more than two weeks before the premiere of the movie, which will hit the US theaters starting the 1st of August.

Staying true to the plot of the film, the mobile game will take players to the mysterious China where, all throughout 9 levels, they will experience an epic adventure. "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" includes two different mini-games, different types of weapons (like grenades and shotguns) and 3D sceneries from China's deserts or the frozen Himalaya Mountains. Fight against 5 types of enemies, including mercenaries and - obviously - mummies.

Of course, the development of the mobile game was possible only after Gameloft sealed a licensing agreement with Universal Pictures.

"An action-packed property such as The Mummy allows us to go down an extremely wide creative path to deliver an exciting and engaging mobile game for fans," stated Gonzague de Vallois, Senior Vice President of Publishing at Gameloft, earlier this year.
Succeeding "The Mummy" (1999) and "The Mummy Returns" (2001), "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" was directed by Rob Cohen and produced by Stephen Sommers, James Jack, Bob Ducsay and Sean Daniel. With a budget of about $175 million, the new Mummy is expected to have at least the same success as the previous films. "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" gathers the following actors: Brendan Fraser, Maria Bello, Jet Li, Isabella Leong, Michelle Yeoh, Luke Ford and John Hannah.

But Until the film rolls-out, Gameloft's "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" can surely offer fans a good share of adventure.
