A listing for a “2009 EIGHT CORE MAC PRO 3.33GHz 32GB DDR3 4TB HDD” has appeared on eBay. Sold by user leecher69 “new, sealed in box,” the desktop computer system is likely one of Apple’s latest Mac Pros that has been artificially beefed up with Intel 8 core 3.33GHz Nehalem chips, as 9to5Mac suggests. It costs no more, no less than US $8,999.99.

It is only reasonable to assume that this eight-core Pro is actually a “re-sealed in box” system, but the seller does mention a 30-day 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee, as well as three years of AppleCare. He also throws in Snow Leopard and iLife ‘09. Currently, eBay shows that one such system has already been sold, while nine remain. So, here are the complete specs, for whoever is interested:

- Condition:New, Sealed in Box;
- Product Family: Mac Pro;
- Screen Size: None (meaning that you need to provide your own monitor, just like with the Apple I);
- Processor Type: Intel Xeon;
- Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard;
- Primary Drive: DVD+/-RW/CD-RW;
- Bundled Items: Keyboard, Mouse, Network Card (no mentioning of whether the peripherals are Apple’s newest additions to the wireless line);
- Processor Type: Intel Xeon;
- Processor Speed (per Core): 3.333 GHz;
- Processor Configuration: EIGHT;
- Memory (RAM): 32 GB;
- Hard Drive Capacity: 4,000 GB (four terabytes).

3.33GHz EIGHT CORE NEHALEM 2009 APPLE MAC PRO
NOT EVEN OFFERED FROM APPLE YET!!

32GB 1066MHz ECC DDR3 Memory - 4TB (2 X 2TB) Hard Drives;
GeForce GTX 285 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 Video Card - 18X Super Drive;
Snow Leopard - iLife '09 - Three Years AppleCare;
30 Day 100% Satisfaction Money Back Guarantee.

It goes without saying, but you cannot trust this is a factory-sealed Mac Pro. Since Apple is the only one making them, and this configuration doesn’t even exist, the base Mac Pro used to make up this system has surely undergone some “surgery.” If you decide to buy this system, you will do so at your own risk.
