Actor Mandy Patinkin, who was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for his role on “Homeland,” gave the most awesome interview ever on Good Day NY the other day. Check out the video above for confirmation.

The actor was talking about his hit show, when one of the co-anchors announced he had to leave because he’d just gotten an email that his wife had gone into labor.

Patinkin’s reaction was nothing short of priceless.

“Oh my god! How thrilling! Mazel tov! Oh my god! That's so thrilling! Is this his first kid? Oh my god, that is the most exciting thing I've ever had happen,” he exclaimed, visibly touched by the news.

“Oh my god! Oh how thrilling... oh my god. To hell with me, let's cut away to the hospital. Oh, wow. That is thrilling,” he continued.

He also insisted the network put up the announcement on the official website when the baby was born (which they did). Later on, he took part in a live sing-along, ad-libbing a few words about the baby.
