According to the autopsy report released today, the death of the 4-year-old who rode the "Mission: Space" was caused by an abnormal cardiac rhythms from a heart condition he had since birth, Reuters informed.

Daudi Bamuwamye died in June, after riding a $100 million Epcot ride, one of Disney World's most popular.

After the tragic incident, the amusement park had closed the ride and only after it was proven that it operated within normal parameters it was opened again.

The Orange County Medical Examiner's Office said that the boy was suffering from idiopathic myocardial hypertrophy, which consists in the thickening of the heart muscle. The myocardial hypertrophy also causes disruptions of the electrical functions of the heart.

In July, another ride at Disney's California Adventure caused minor injuries to 33 people when two of the ride's trains collided due to a faulty breaking system.

From 1987 to 2002, for mobile and fixed-site amusement rides combined, there were an estimated 4.4 amusement-ride fatalities per year, rideaccidents.com announced.

In 2004, mobile amusement rides accounted for an estimated 2,500 non-occupational injuries treated in hospital emergency rooms, the site also mentioned.
