Ubisoft has announced that their upcoming multiplayer hack and slash game with castle construction elements is now welcoming players to its open beta test, hosted on Steam for PC.

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a free-to-play game that offers players an outrageous medieval fantasy experience where wealth and showboating are all that matters.

Set in the magical fantasy realm of Opulencia, the game challenges players to delve into other players’ dungeons, survive the deadly traps and defeat their guarding minions and loot their chests, then construct a worthy network of defenses to protect their own riches from trespassers.

Developer Ubisoft Montreal set out to provide a fresh and humorous perspective, and whereas other games deal mainly with players banding together and invading various neutral or "enemy" dungeons scattered throughout the game world, The Mighty Quest has players invading other gamers' lairs and stealing their loot.

In order to celebrate the permanent opening of the gates for The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, Ubisoft has added The Runaway to the roster of available characters, allowing both experience dungeon looters as well as newbies to make use of her speed and ability when it comes to hacking and slashing.

The Runaway joins the cast of existing characters, the brave Knight, sage Mage and dextrous Archer that players have been using to loot, cause havoc and brag so far.

Additionally, five Diamond packs are now available for those who wish to get a head start in the game or catch up to the competition.

The newly introduced Runaway will be included in the Attacker Pack, the Trio Combo as well as the Ultimate Pack, making sure that players who want to get their hands on the latest playable character will be able to do so in their chosen manner.

The developers warn that nobody should sleep easy in Opulencia, as they are hard at work making the new Defense Mode with Open Creation. The closed beta showed just how imaginative looters can be when protecting their riches, and now Open Creation has been added to introduce a wider array of castle defense options.

Players who want to join the open beta and see what all the hubbub is about can do so on The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot website, by signing up with a uPlay account.

Starting today, February 26, the game is available to everyone interested in stockpiling gold, namely their neighbor's gold, and protecting it from other intrepid adventurers.
