Microsoft officially launched its first mouse in history on May 2, 1983, trying to provide users with an easier way to control their “personal computers.”

Today, the company owns a wide range of products, including customized and unique mice specifically aimed at netbooks, tablets or desktop computers.

As you can see in this photo published by the tech giant on Twitter, Microsoft has greatly improved the original design, as the Wedge Mouse clearly represents a major sign of evolution not only for the Softies, but also for the entire industry.

Surprisingly, Microsoft continues selling mice, even though it also debuted Windows 8, a brand new operating system that’s focused on touchscreen capabilities more than ever before.

In the end, it’s up to users to decide the way they wish to control their computers, so every single mouse launched by Microsoft is clearly worth at least a try.
