A while ago, a grieving and terribly saddened Heather Mills was saying that, disgusted by all the commentaries in the press, will go for a quiet divorce. A rumor was also heard that she might be tempted to settle for a modest 10 million from the Paul McCartney's fast fortune, estimated at around 825 million.
All that went down the drain, as the two are already at each other's necks, bitterly attacking each other and resorting to petty measures of irritating the other. Because Heather tried to spend as much money as she could before the divorce settled the financial aspect between her and Paul (they did not sign a prenup before getting married), the former Beatle froze his bank account.
Basically, Mills had been withdrawing 'obscene' sums of money from their joint account and, when her former husband found out about it, he had the bank freeze it to restrict her access to it. He also had the locks changed to his London house (where they spent most of their time as husband and wife). This enraged the animal campaigner because she wasn't told about the modifications and had to find out about them first-hand.
Consequently, Heather counter-filed for divorce both in England and America and is set to get her well-deserved share of Paul's money, meaning, almost 200 million. Sources close to the two feuding celebrities say that they had many rows over the phone that only made things even worse than before.
'It has really got nasty. This is war Heather and Paul can't stand each other any more and they will fight for everything. They will stop at nothing to irritate each other, no matter how petty.', a source told a British newspaper.
Even more, the source adds that now they are not even pretending to have an amicable split any longer and that, quote, 'they are fighting like cats and dogs. The two of them will now argue about virtually every single detail of their time together. And it looks like it's heading all the way to the court. It is on course to be the most explosive show business divorce ever'.
