Unsettling, moody, brilliant: what a comeback this will be

Director Paul Thomas Anderson is returning to the big screen with “The Master,” his first film since 2007's “There Will Be Blood.” Above is a brand new theatrical trailer.

“The Master” won't mark just Anderson's comeback, but also Joaquin Phoenix's, one of the actors we're most partial to, who's looking stunning in this.

It also stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams, and seems to tell a very unsettling, moody and brilliant story about blind belief and what happens when you trust someone else with your most intimate ideas and thoughts.

The film is famously based on Scientology, a cult created by L. Ron Hubbard, a science-fiction writer, which is now the hippest in Hollywood.

Officially, though, Anderson won't have anything to do with this association.

“The Master” will be out in October this year.
