Apple's Core 2 Duo laptops rule!

I am an AMD fan, I always used their CPUs as a home user (since 1997), and my favorite AMD CPU is the 12MHz AMD 80286 I keep like a treasure together with its mainboard, memory and video card, hoping to make it a full working system again one day; but I should be a fool not to admit that Intel's new Core 2 Duo processors are the best ones that exist on the market at this time. Despite that, I would keep buying AMD CPUs for personal use on my desktop, but if I were given the choice to pick a laptop, I would surely go for one using a Core 2 Duo, and since I keep using a PC platform with Windows XP at home, why not get a laptop with Mac OS from Apple?

Yesterday, PC Magazine rated the MacBook one of the best budget laptops, and that shouldn't be something unexpected. The demand for these laptops is huge, and this is not just because "Apple" sounds cool or they are manufactured by Asus Teck, as soon, Foxconn will start manufacturing Apple laptops too, as far as I know. It's the Core 2 Duo, surprisingly added to the MacBook line of computers only one week after Apple received these processors to equip the performance-line of laptops, the MacBook Pros.

Obviously, a computer has more than just a CPU to look at, and PC Magazine wrote that Apple's style and overall look alongside the keyboard are also positive features that increase MacBook's value. Although the 512MB of system memory are insufficient for a new computer, speed tests revealed a 7 percent speed increase compared to the original MacBook, and Cisco Cheng from PC Magazine said this computer is "great for watching a DVD movie or editing your holiday photos", but I must add that the Core 2 Duo-engined MacBook is capable of much more than that. So, if you want a powerful budget laptop for Christmas, place your order as soon as possible!
