Player X, a UK-based mobile media company, announced the release of The Love Guru game, which is based on the movie with the same title, released on June 20 in the US. The new mobile game is the result of a collaboration between Player X, Tag Games and Paramount Pictures - the company that distributes The Love Guru movie.
The Love Guru is not a stand-alone game, being comprised of six funny mini-games with 5 levels of difficulty that will test your logic and require you to attain enlightenment in order to become the Love Guru.
Tony Pearce, CEO of Player X, declared in a press release appeared on its company's website: "We're delighted to be working with Paramount Digital Entertainment on The Love Guru. A Mike Myers' movie is a big event and we have worked very closely with Paramount Pictures to ensure the game matches the quality, humour and originality of the movie."
Sandi Isaacs, SVP Mobile & Interactive, Paramount Digital Entertainment, said: "The Love Guru mobile game is a great complement to the upcoming theatrical debut of the film. We are excited to reunite with Player X to develop a game that will entertain audiences of all ages."
The Love Guru movie, which will be released in Europe come July, features lots of stars, including: the already-mentioned Mike Myers (who has the lead role, as Guru Maurice Pitka), Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West.
Player X will distribute The Love Guru game all over the world, via more than 140 mobile operators. The game is currently available only in the US, via Verizon Wireless, the second largest American carrier, which released it on June 10. In the next two weeks, other US carriers will offer the game too, while Europe will get it later this summer, at the same time as the movie.
