This will split you audio in 8

If you are into more serious sound or - even more - into serious A/V editing and processing, it's impossible not to have felt the need to feed some audio to multiple recorders at the same time so the
next autumn won't come while you still work at the previous Christmas movies. Or being a sound technician facing the need to split the audio to multiple recorders in a live conference situation... so, what's to be done?

Now, you could do this the DIY way and actually split the signal in as many paths you need: needless to say, your audio will be lousy as hell... That's why Rapco, a company highly specialized in signal (re)wiring, (re)routing, splitting and grouping, bringing together then again spreading audio. Shortly, Rapco is one of the leading names in heavy duty cabling, snakes, splitters and connectors, wiring testing devices, boxes and plates and so on.

And since Rapco is well-used to working with signal and if not making it better at least maintaining it to the initial quality from source to the actual speakers, it was little surprise that a very cool, hi-quality and handy device emerged from the Rapco labs.

12-way groundlifted singal splitter

It's a signal splitter, allowing you to divide your audio in 8 or 12. The MDS (Media Distribution System) sport 1/4" or XLR balanced inputs and each output has a ground lift switch. 20 dB pads and ground lifts are fitted for inputs; and as well, 1/8" jacks are present on the first two outs, just in case.

Transformer isolation is present in all channels so there is no fear of putting multiple MDSs in a daisy configuration as more than 12 outs are needed. Add in the 2 handles for easy hauling to and fro and you get one awesome piece of tech. We're all waiting for the price, these days.
