The Lord Delivered His Word into Cybersquatter’s Heart

- Do this no more I shall, squatter said, in a Yoda kind of way

By: Vlad Constandes, SEO News Editor

Religion has always had the weirdest influence on people, who went to war over it on repeated occasions (and still are), despite the predominantly peaceful doctrines the churches praise in sermon every week. But hey, if it’ll stop a true believer that happened to talk the talk but failed to walk the walk, religion is well interpreted in that situation.

Heareth thou the word of our Lord, speaking in tongues of men
of the wrong ways! Mr. Twigge, an inhabitant of Palmerston North, New Zealand, that had made a point in becoming the latest type of Robin Hood available on the market, has changed his ways after reading a chapter from the book of Corinthians. He previously dealt with cybersquatting, that is buying domain names and then re-selling them to those interested. Notably, all the money he received this way was donated to charities.

Now, he stands ashamed of his behavior and has issued a public apology for causing offense, Stuff.co.nz reports. The latest attempt at working his magic happened when OzJet announced that it would start trans-Tasman flights, including Palmerston North on its route. Twigge saw an opportunity and immediately registered www.ozjet.co.nz and asked the airline company for $5,000. When the company refused, he asked them, in exchange for the domain, to fly a terminally ill child and his family to Dreamworld in Australia, all expenses paid. With cybersquatting being legal, he was entitled to ask for anything, in case you were wondering why OzJet even discussed the possibility.

He let down the Christian community, Twigge says, while knowing that the pathway to Hell is paved with good intentions. The passage from Corinthians that changed his mind lists ‘extorsioners’ among various kinds of people who would not inherit the Kingdom of God. I myself would not have changed my ways, had they been so profitable, but that’s a totally different story.
