Microsoft's Live webmaster portal is opened for business. The Redmond company's Live Search Webmaster Center is a set of online offerings designed to work in conjunction with the new Live Search 2.0. Addressed at webmasters, the online service and tools have evolved quietly in private beta so far, but as of November 14, Microsoft has opened it up, putting a public label on Live Search Webmaster Center.

"We're happy to take the "private" label off our Webmaster Tools beta, and open it up to all webmasters and SEO professionals. This is a first step by Live Search to make it easier to ensure your site is getting the best crawling, indexing, and representation in Live Search results possible. Our goal is that it will lead to better traffic for your site, and better search results for our customers," revealed Nathan Buggia, Lead Program Manager with the Live Webmaster Team.

The portal has been set up in order to allow webmaster streamlined access to - as Microsoft put it - everything that Live Search has to offer. And in terms of search engine optimization, the Live Search Webmaster Center is an indispensable component and ingredient of websites that need to score high results on Microsoft's search engine under Windows Live. The Webmaster Tools, still in beta at this time, come to enable webmasters to access statistics on specific websites, to submit sitemaps and to manage and troubleshoot website crawling and indexing.

"Make sure there aren't any problems with MSNBot and your site - sign into the tools, verify your site and ensure that Live Search is indexing your pages, we haven't identified any of your content as SPAM, and there are not any issues with your Robots.txt file. If any pages have been blocked for being spammy, fix the issue, then follow the instructions to complete a re-inclusion request", Buggia added.
