The Linux Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux, has announced that four companies are joining the organization: Fluendo, Lineo Solutions, Mocana and NVIDIA.

The four companies to join forces in the The Linux Foundation are Fluendo, a software development company and GStreamer expert, Lineo Solutions, a company from Japan with 19 years of experience in Linux and embedded systems development, Mocana, a device-agnostic security platform that protects mobile devices, and NVIDIA, the well know video card chipset manufacturer.

"The ongoing support from companies and organizations across industries and geographies demonstrates not only Linux's ubiquity but also its ability to quickly adapt for a variety of technical and market opportunities," said Amanda McPherson, vice president of marketing and developer services at The Linux Foundation.

For a few months now, The Linux Foundation operates from Berlin, Germany. By gathering strong partners under its umbrella, the company hopes to develop a collaborative development model as accelerated growth in other areas such as mobile and embedded development, security and multimedia is undeniable.
