14 DAY TRIAL // One of the dramedies to come out of this year’s Sundance Film Festival is “The Lifeguard,” from director Liz W. Garcia. As the theatrical release for the film is nearing, the first trailer has been unleashed and, as usual, you can see it above.
“The Lifeguard” stars Kristen Bell as a journalist who, on the verge of 30, decides her life is extremely unhappy and that she’s somehow gotten lost on the way.
Instead of trying to find a new path in life, she moves back home in Connecticut with her parents, a decision that her father certainly doesn’t see with kind eyes.
She takes up her old job as the high school lifeguard and, along the way, also seduces and falls for a 17-year-old boy played by David Lambert.
The film wasn’t received well at Sundance but, if the trailer above convinces you to give it a chance, look for it in theaters on August 30.
