The latest Humble Weekly Bundle sale is tailored to aspiring video game makers, offering a ton of game creation tools at what is probably the best value for money yet.

If you fancy yourself a video game creator but don't quite know where to start, RPG Maker is a very good take-off point. Over the years, RPG Maker VX Ace has grown into a very powerful instrument, with a varied toolset for creating classic role-playing game in the vein of old NES ones.

The program has a very easy-to-utilize interface, with multiple-tileset support and an extensive system of features that grant users the flexibility and tools to create their perfect role-playing game.

This week's Humble Bundle sale brings over $350 / €235 worth of game-creating software, making for an unbeatable offer as far as starting up with zero prior knowledge of game-making goes.

RPG Maker VX Ace comes with a ton of related DLC, from music and various sounds to a wealth of graphical content for you to add to your games.

In addition to the tools, the bundle also includes a couple of games, namely Skyborn, Sweet Lily Dreams and the Free Game Bundle #1, at its "pay what you want" tier. Users willing to beat the average also get To The Moon, Deadly Sin 2 and the Free Games Bundle #2, consisting of five extra indie titles.

Finally, those who opt to get the VIP package will nab Legionwood 2: Rise of the Eternal's Dream, along with another RPG Maker asset pack and the Game Character Hub, an easy-to-use tool for creating your own graphical assets.

The bundle allows buyers, as always, to select where their money goes and set the split between the developers and two charities, the IndieCade Foundation and Child's Play.

The only question is who's got the time to play all those games when you're busily working on becoming the next big thing in the role-playing game world.

Especially since the 2014 Indie Game Maker Contest just kicked off yesterday, allowing aspiring game developers a chance at earning a ton of exposure, feedback and prizes, including a considerable cash one of $10k / €7.5k as the Grand Prize.

Submissions for the 2014 Indie Game Maker Contest are due by June 30 and will be judged by Humble Bundle team members and RPG Maker representatives, as well as some special guests. If you want to see the full details of the contest, visit the RPG Maker contest official website.
