The Last of Us, the video game from developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony, is once more at the top of the United Kingdom video chart for the week that ended on June 22, the second consecutive week it has maintained the position.

The Last of Us is one of the biggest launches of the year and was widely praised for its post-apocalyptic story and the way it manages to create emotional connections between the player and the various characters.

FIFA 13, the rather old football simulation from EA Sports, is yet again in third spot and there’s a chance that it will stay in the UK top ten up until the launch date for the next installment in the series.

FIFA 14 is designed to use a new Ignite engine on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 and the game will also be launched on the PC and current-gen devices.

Tomb Raider, the Lara Croft adventure created by Crystal Dynamics, is in fourth place, followed by Max Payne 3, the Rockstar-made shooter that has re-entered the top ten after it got a solid price cut.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is also benefitting from the sales of its downloadable content packages and sits in sixth and another shooter, Far Cry 3, is in seventh.

Injustice: Gods Among Us, the NetherRealm fighting game, is in eighth as gamers await the launch of the General Zod DLC, and Assassin’s Creed III occupies ninth place.

GRID 2, the racing game from Codemasters, closes down the UK top ten.
