Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception included a special teaser Easter Egg for The Last of Us, the upcoming title from Naughty Dog, by mistake, as the studio thought that the game will have been announced before Uncharted 3's launch.

Uncharted 3 appeared in November 2011 and included a pretty interesting Easter Egg, in the form of a newspaper that mentioned a fungal outbreak.

Naughty Dog included the teaser because it thought The Last of Us will have been confirmed ahead of November.

That, however, didn't happen until December, so basically Naughty Dog spoiled the surprise it had kept a closely guarded secret until then, according to Kotaku.

The Easter Egg prompted a lot of speculation on the web but, fortunately, many hardcore gamers dismissed the possibility of teasing a new Naughty Dog game, largely because the studio had only worked on a single project up until that point.

Now, The Last of Us is expected to appear next month, on June 14, for the PlayStation 3.
