After plenty of teasing and a first gameplay video earlier today, Sony and Naughty Dog have rolled out the first screenshots from The Last of Us Remastered for the PS4 platform, showing off some stunning new images with the upcoming game.

The Last of Us pushed the PS3 to its limits last year when it appeared for the old Sony console. While the experience certainly impressed lots of people thanks to great gameplay and a touching story, its visuals didn’t look that great.

For the upcoming The Last of Us Remastered for the PS4, developer Naughty Dog has overhauled the whole experience to deliver the same gameplay but with much better visuals, not to mention a larger native resolution (1080p) and a smoother framerate (60fps).

Last week, a few images leaked thanks to an Asian website, and earlier today the first gameplay video of The Last of Us Remastered appeared online.

Now, Sony has shared via the PS blog the first official screenshots with the new PS4 experience.

As you can see above and below, protagonists Joel and Ellie, not to mention the enemies they'll meet or the environments they'll see, are looking absolutely gorgeous.

Considering The Last of Us Remastered for the PS4 launches on July 30, expect to see more images and videos in the following weeks.
