The Last of Remastered for the PS4 isn't even out yet and some screenshots have already leaked thanks to a stream organized by a fan who got his hands on an early copy of the new title.

The Last of Us appeared for the PS3 last summer and delighted tens of millions of PS3 owners worldwide with an intense story, a great survival-oriented gameplay, and a pretty intense multiplayer. Since then, developer Naughty Dog has released quite a bit of DLC, while working in parallel on a remastered version of the game for the PS4.

The title is set to debut next week, right at the end of July, but it seems that some early copies of the title have already reached the hands of a few lucky gamers.

One such fan organized a small live stream online, and fortunately, a few screenshots have been revealed via NeoGAF.

The images below depict the opening segments of the game that show the struggle of main protagonist Joel, both before the actual virus outbreak and many years after it.

You can certainly notice some of the visual improvements made to the title, including its character models, but there are also a few spots where things aren't looking so good, like in terms of shadows.

The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 launches officially on July 29.
