Naughty Dog's first PlayStation 4 release, the revisited edition of last year's award winning action adventure title The Last of Us, sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide in its first day of existence, according to an alleged leaked ledger.

The report should be taken with a moderately sized lump of salt, as there is currently no official information from Sony regarding such impressive numbers.

Granted, Sony's own sales chart for the month of July places The Last of Us: Remastered at the top of its PlayStation 4 sellers, ahead of Oddworld: New'n'Tasty, Valiant Hearts: The Great War, Trials Fusion and Sniper Elite 3.

Furthermore, the massive sales of Naughty Dog's revamped masterpiece helped Sony sell even more PlayStation 4 units, with a rumored 60k The Last of Us: Remastered bundles sold on day one, and with total sales of around 200k units for the July 31 to August 1 period, placing the PS4's total sales very near the 10 million mark.

The Last of Us: Remastered has been completely rebuilt for the PlayStation 4, running in full 1080p at 60 frames per second, and developer Naughty Dog mentions that the experience of porting it to the PlayStation 4 will prove invaluable when working the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

In any case, should the alleged leaked Sony ledger turn out to be the real deal, this means that The Last of Us: Remastered has the highest number of day-one sales on next-gen platforms, and that the company is merely 100k units short of hitting 10 million devices sold with the PlayStation 4.
