The Last of Us: Remastered, the Naughty Dog-created title for the PlayStation 4, is the new leader of the United Kingdom video game chart for the week that ended on August 2, as much of the rest of the chart features little important changes.

The new release takes the foundation of the already famous video game and improves it with better graphics and enhanced gameplay, while also allowing players to get access to all the downloadable content launched for it so far, both for single and for multiplayer.

Rarely does a remake perform as well as the Remastered version of The Last of Us, but the fan base has expressed surprise at how important the changes are and how good the title looks on the next-gen Sony platform.

Watch Dogs, the open world action title from Ubisoft, has managed to land in second place for the week, according to data from UKIE, and the title might move back to the top spot in the coming weeks, especially if the publisher delivers any sort of new DLC.

The last position on the podium is occupied by FIFA 14, the EA Sports-made football simulation, which is still interesting to fans of the sport despite the fact that the studio has already been teasing the improvements that will be part of the next title in the series.

FIFA 15 will be launched in late September and a new version of the Ignite engine will allow gamers to control smarter players, to enjoy a number of graphical improvements and to experience an enhanced version of the Ultimate Team mode.

Fourth place in the United Kingdom chart is occupied by The LEGO Movie Video Game, which managed to gain one place after spending last week in fifth, while the Xbox 360 version of indie hit Minecraft has managed to land in fifth coming from third.

The PlayStation 3 version of the Mojang experience is in sixth place and is followed by Sniper Elite 3, the long range shooter from Rebellion and 505 Games, which has fallen down four positions even as the two companies are delivering new content for it.

Call of Duty: Ghsots has managed to climb one place in order to reach eight, just as Infinity Ward and Activision have announced that the Nemesis DLC for it will be launched on Xbox platforms on August 5, while its main rival, Battlefield 4, is in ninth place.

The United Kingdom top ten is closed down by GTA V from Rockstar.
