The Last of Us: Remastered, the PlayStation 4 version of the already classic title from developer Naughty Dog, manages to keep the number one position in the United Kingdom video game chart for the week that ends on August 9 and shows that a solid re-release of an older game might be the perfect content for gamers to buy during the summer new launch drought.

The title tells the same familiar story but uses higher-quality graphics and an improved engine, while also offering players access to all the downloadable content that has been launched since the game first came out in 2013.

The development team at Naughty Dog has suggested that it might be working on another DLC package that will expand the multiplayer and in the meantime is delivering patches that are designed to deliver a better matchmaking experience and to improve weapons balance.

Second place is once again occupied by Watch Dogs, the open world action adventure title from Ubisoft that takes gamers to Chicago and allows them to explore the city, hack their way through challenges, and battle a conspiracy.

The developers have suggested that a new city might be added to the title before the end of the year via DLC.

The last position on the podium is again occupied by the EA Sports-made FIFA 14, which is continuing its impressive long-term run even as the attention of the company and of most fans shifts to this year’s installment of the series, which will deliver an improved version of the Ignite engine.

Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar has managed to jump up six places, according to data from UKIE, and is now in fourth place, probably because of rumors that gamers will get access to new downloadable content this week.

The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is in fifth place once again, showing that indie titles can succeed on home consoles, and is followed by The LEGO Movie Video Game title from Warner Bros.

In seventh lies the PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft, down one place over its previous position, and in eight gamers can find Call of Duty: Ghosts, which recently received a double XP weekend.

Ninth place is occupied by Battlefield 4 from DICE and the last position in the United Kingdom chart is linked to Sniper Elite 3, from Rebellion and 505 Games, even as new content is being delivered by the developers.
