151 Japanese video game developers have chosen The Last of Us, the video game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony, as their Game of the Year for 2013.

Second place was a tie between Grand Theft Auto V, created by Rockstar and published by Take Two, and Dragon’s Crown, developed by Vanillaware and delivered to the market by Atlus.

The last position on the podium belongs to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the MMO remake from Square Enix.

Gamasutra says that the list of developers who responded to the survey from 4Gamer includes such well-known creators as Keiji Inafune, Goichi Suda, Hideki Kamiya, Kazuki Morishita and Fumito Ueda.

The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic adventure that was praised by critics and gamers for its complex narrative, its well-developed characters and its solid combat mechanics.

The game can only be played on the PlayStation 3 from Sony.
