14 DAY TRIAL // The development team at Naughty Dog and publisher Sony announce that the final piece of downloadable content for The Last of Us is called the Grounded Bundle and will introduce both single-player and multiplayer content for fans of the title to explore.
In the official announcement, the two companies state that, "Grounded Mode will be the hardest challenge you’ll ever face as you try to complete the single-player campaign of The Last of Us. The AI is relentless, smart, and brutal, and survival will be near impossible. 'Completed Grounded Mode' might be one of the most difficult Trophies you’ll ever earn."
All players who have bought the Season Pass for The Last of Us will get the new DLC for free, while other gamers will have to pay 4.99 dollars or Euro for it.
Gamers will be able to get access to four new maps in the Reclaimed Territories Map Pack, called Wharf, Capitol, Coal Mine, and Water Tower, each of them designed to offer a unique new twist on content that gamers have already experienced.
The new locations will have attached Trophies and gamers will have to use climbing, stealth and flanking in order to defeat their enemies, according to Naughty Dog.
At the same time, gamers can get four new weapons to use as part of the Survivalist Weapon Bundle , which introduces the Specter, Double Barrel, Enforcer and Launcher, all of them with unique abilities that have been chosen and balanced in order to expand the way players approach multiplayer.
Naughty Dog adds, "Finally, everyone - non-season pass holders, included - will be getting a new gun, the Full-Auto Rifle, for free. This is a fully automatic, modified burst rifle that is very easy to use. It’s the perfect weapon for people who are new to Factions and experts alike."
The studio says that a full demonstration of the content included in the Grounded Bundle for The Last of Us will be offered in a Twitch-based stream that will take place on Thursday, April 24, at 12 AM Pacific Time.
Players have until May 13 to pick up the Season Pass for the game in order to get significant price cuts for all the DLC that has been launched for it.
At the moment, Naughty Dog is also working on an official PlayStation 4 version of The Last of us, which rumors suggest might be launched in late June.
