Evan Wells, the co-president of Naughty Dog, explains that during the development of The Last of Us, the team focused on offering a number of interesting experiences to the player, manipulating the story in order to get the main characters into specific situations.

Evan Wells, the co-president of Naughty Dog, tells VG247 that, “Sometimes, it’s the story that drives us to say, ‘OK, we need to create this environment and this kind of gameplay,’ and other times it’s like, ‘OK, is is the experience we want to create — how do we get the story to pass rough that?’”

Naughty Dog is well known for the complex environments and tactical puzzles that it has created for the Uncharted series.

The company wants to continue impressing gamers with the places that they will visit during The Last of Us.

The game will be launched on the PlayStation 3 during early May.
