Sony has apparently registered two very interesting domain names, in the form of The Last of Us 2 and 3, hinting at the possibility of turning the upcoming survival game into a franchise.

The Last of Us is set to appear on June 14 for the PlayStation 3, and the title has just been completed by Naughty Dog, one of Sony's most successful internal teams.

The studio, which is also responsible for great franchises like Uncharted or Jak and Daxter, is quite proud of its survival experience, and apparently Sony is also confident in its success.

According to Kotaku, the publisher has already registered domain names for two possible sequels, in the form of The Last of Us 2 and The Last of Us 3.

It's unclear if this is just a precaution on behalf of Sony, so that no other companies register the websites, or if the decision has already been taken to turn The Last of Us into a series.
