The Last of Us 2, the next installment in the series made by developer Naughty Dog, might star a grownup version of Ellie, one of the key characters from the original game, at least according to a piece of artwork that might have something to do with the sequel.

The Last of Us delighted millions of PS3 owners last June, bringing forth a thrilling survival experience that emphasized intense action and teamwork between the main protagonists, Joel and Ellie.

Developer Naughty Dog is currently working on bringing the game onto the PlayStation 4 platform, via The Last of Us: Remastered, which will include the core title and the different downloadable content packs, like the Left Behind add-on.

Even so, rumors about a sequel have been floating around the web, and now a fresh piece of teaser artwork has appeared online, via the Facebook page of Naughty Dog collaborator Marek Okon.

As you can see above, the image shows a grownup version of Ellie, and Okon's caption read "Let me tease you something... It's coming."

After a few hours, once speculations started appearing, Okon commented on the image and said that "So before it's going to get blown out of proportions – it's going to be strictly personal image. Is it about TLOU2? Not really... Maybe... Its classified."

As such, while it's unclear what the relationship between the artwork and the sequel might be, a potential adult version of Ellie could appear in it.
