Naughty Dog, the developer of the Uncharted franchise and of the recent The Last of Us survival game, has mentioned that right now there's a 50% chance that a sequel – The Last of Us 2 – might actually be made.

The Last of Us impressed millions of PS3 owners worldwide by delivering a gritty survival experience with a touching story as well as a great multiplayer mode that was expanded via DLC.

Now, two of the main developers for the game, Game Director Bruce Straley and Creative Director Neil Druckmann answered fan questions on Reddit, including one about the chances for a The Last of Us sequel.

"If you’re asking about a sequel… right now I’d say it’s 50/50," Druckmann said.

The developers also emphasized that Sony has trust in Naughty Dog and isn't pressing for certain projects.

"Sony has complete trust in us. It’s really up to us to come up with something that will keep the team inspired for the next several years — which is why we don’t take the decision of what we’ll work on next lightly."

As of yet, one of the studio's teams is working on Uncharted 4 for PS4.
