Arnold Schwarzenegger announced his comeback to action movies immediately after he retired from politics, but his first film will only arrive in theaters this January. Above is the final trailer for it.

Called “The Last Stand,” the film sees Arnie play a retired cop turned sheriff of a small border town, who is asked by authorities to do his best to stop a known criminal from crossing the border into Mexico.

The problem is that the criminal is in cahoots with the Mexican drug cartels and, as such, has a lot of firepower at his disposal.

In this situation, Arnie and his pals will be forced to fight fire with fire, in one final attempt at keeping him in the US and handling him over to the authorities.

Translation: boom boom bang!

“The Last Stand” also stars Johnny Knoxville, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzman, Jaimie Alexander, Peter Stormare and Genesis Rodriguez, and will be out on January 18, 2013.
