The Last Federation is an upcoming strategy game mixed with action tactics or text-based combat, set inside a simulation game.

Players will take on the role of the solitary survivor of a murdered race who vowed to bring peace to the universe by forming a Solar Federation. Having stolen a flagship fitted with advanced weaponry, you must overcome the trillion to one odds working from the shadows and manipulating entire planets before anyone can figure out your involvement.

Players will engage in space combat with both friends and foes that you can either help or betray, using hit and run tactics or simply scaring enemy rookie pilots when you decloak with all guns blazing.

Gamers will lose and gain influence with eight other races through their in-game actions, having the power to execute political deals, backroom criminal hirings, and much more.

Each campaign in The Last Federation is an entirely unique story, a feat achieved through the game's deep simulation of planetary and interplanetary governments, politics, industry, warfare, economics, and the race for technological supremacy, having a fully fleshed-out world simulation playing all around the users, affecting the strategic landscape as well as providing both opportunities and setbacks.

Players will have to be able to adapt to the ever-changing circumstances of the universe in order to win over allies to their cause, or they can simply observe the deep simulation of the solar system and its billions of inhabitants in observer mode, watching nations rise to power and then fall into decline.

Developer Arcen games has released a lengthy developer video showing how far it has come in the last six weeks since the last update. The video shows an extended period of gameplay from the game's current alpha build and a densely populated start system for players to work their manipulation skills on.

Additionally, the devs have also published a shorter alpha footage video showing some changes made to the game's combat, including swapping weapons to show each one's importance during engagements with the enemy.

Arcen Games is currently planning to release the full version of The Last Federation on Steam sometime during the second half of April, also having scheduled a pre-order beta access period to take place a couple of weeks ahead of the launch.

Players who want to learn more about The Last Federation can do so by visiting the game's website, where they can find more developer journals along with full descriptions of the features, screenshots, and details regarding how to get into the game's alpha and beta testing phases.
