After releasing another major update for iPhone and iPod touch users, Camera+ developer tap tap tap has issued a minor update for iPad users, addressing a compatibility problem, along with a promise that The Lab is on its way too.

A brand new feature included in the iPhone version of Camera+, The Lab provides a whole new experience of editing and saving photos. Currently, Camera+ for iPad doesn’t sport it.

Camera+ for iPad version 1.6 arrives today with “better compatibility with the iPhone version of Camera+ with The Lab.”

Basically, what this means is that photos edited in The Lab on the iPhone version will be properly synced and displayed on iPads.

“Please note that this update doesn't add the awesome, new editing capabilities of The Lab to Camera+ for iPad *yet*. But the “yet” is the relevant thing… we’re currently hard at work getting The Lab integrated into the iPad version along with the new iOS7ified design of the app,” notes tap tap tap.

Users can download Camera+ for iPad on any Apple tablet running iOS 6.0. The software costs $4.99 / €4.49, while the new version is a free update for all existing users.

One of the key features of Camera+ – and the reason why it’s such an awesome photography app – is Clarity, a built-in image analyzer which makes automatic fixes to spit out a brilliant photo, ready to receive additional effects and retouching.

“Clarity is one of the biggest breakthroughs to happen to image processing in a long time,” says tap tap tap.

“Clarity analyzes your photos and makes several intelligent adjustments that magically bring out details and breathe life into dull photos.”

“With Clarity, you’ll stop throwing out bad photos… you’ll be amazed to see what it can do to photos that you’d typically consider unusable, like shots that came out too dark,” the company adds.

After applying Clarity, advanced editing features are available, including Brushing, Effects Layering, Rotate, Straighten, White Balance, Tone, Red Eye, Detail, Vignette, and Crops.
