Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce, speculation continues to ran rampant about the real reason

Since Kim Kardashian confirmed that she'd filed for divorce from husband of 72 days Kris Humphries, the blogosphere has been on fire trying to figure out what exactly went wrong to make her call off the marriage.

While many tend to believe that the marriage was, from the start, just a PR stunt meant to boost interest in her and her family's E! reality show – not to mention the perfect occasion to make a lot of money – other theories are also making the rounds.

TMZ, for instance (the same media outlet that also broke the news of the divorce), says that distance played a huge part in the demise of the marriage: not in the sense that they were spending too much time apart, but rather that they would have had to, had they chosen to remain together.

“Sources close to the former couple tell TMZ, one of the main points of contention in the marriage was where the couple would live after all of the wedding madness finally died down,” the e-zine writes.

“We're told Kris was passionate about eventually settling down in Minnesota, where he's from... and believed Kim was on board with the plan. She wasn't,” TMZ further says.

“Sources tell us Kim – who's from L.A. - wants to stay near her family, and she also feels that staying in town is the best thing for her career,” it notes.

As for why Kim and Kris didn't talk about that, about their living arrangements before actually tying the knot, TMZ claims the insider says she didn't think beyond the wedding, somehow hoping everything would magically work out once she was married.

In a separate post, TMZ too hints that the marriage and the breakup are probably a scam, saying that, immediately after they started talking about divorce, Kris was out getting a Hollywood agent in a bid to capitalize his brief connection with the Kardashian clan.
