While the project written and directed by the less famous brother of Charlie Sheen wowed the entire audience at the Venice Film Festival, 'Bobby' has already proven a huge success in Hollywood, too. And that happened even before it was released.
The star-studded drama, featuring Sharon Stone, Lindsay Lohan, Anthony Hopkins, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore and the director himself, focuses on what exactly happened at the hotel where he was fatally shot and on the way his life (and death) impacted on those who were close to him.
On November 1st, 'Bobby' will make its US debut at Los Angeles Film Festival, held by the American Film Institute and it will open in theaters in Los Angeles and New York on November 17. But, until then, the buzz around it is growing by the day: from positive reviews by all those who had the chance to see a screening, to members of Robert's family publicly thanking Estevez for making the biopic.
'Our family is grateful to Emilio Estevez and the extraordinary cast of "Bobby" for remembering Robert Kennedy's life and his commitment to social justice, peace and equality. In the last 38 years, there has been no more important moment to remember his values and vision for our great country and its purpose in our troubled world.', Ethel Kennedy, Robert's widow, said in a press statement, released by Weinstein Company, which is en charge of the marketing of the movie.
Robert's daughter, Kerry, totally agrees with her mother, adding that she hopes the movie will help bring more political awareness to youngsters, a statement similar to that of Lohan's. 'Younger generations will now hear Robert Kennedy's words, they will understand the greatness of his life and find the inspiration to dedicate themselves to all he sought to achieve', Kerry concluded by saying.
