The Kardashians are expanding their empire with a new foray in the fashion world. Three of the sisters are setting up an “affordable” collection of clothes for babies and toddlers.

In anticipation of the event, the sisters have set up an Instagram account for “Kardashian Kids” in which they share the first photos of clothes in the collection. While most feature a friendly design of butterflies and polka dots, there are some Kardashian originals, such as the leopard print.

Speaking with WWD, Kim said that “It was mainly Kourtney who was the inspiration, but as I got pregnant, I started to chime in” and added that “Until you have your own child, you don’t realize how important it is for fabrics to be extra soft and accessible.”

According to their own sales pitch, the collection is going to feature 30 original pieces for girls aged 0 to 24 months, that have a focus on super-soft, baby-friendly materials.

Kourtney admitted that the clothing line had been in the works for a few years now, “Since becoming a mom, I’ve been so inspired to create Kardashian Kids with perfect prints, heavenly fabrics for a baby’s skin and to bring fashion to the baby world that is affordable.”

It would seem that baby fashion has a long running in the Kardashian family, as Kim points out, “Our grandmother opened a children’s fashion store, and from an early age I adored baby fashion. Later when Penelope was born, my sisters and I had so many ideas for how we wanted to dress her, but didn’t always find what we were envisioning.”

“Now, as a mom, I cherish the time my baby and I spend together getting her dressed. The items in this collection are exactly what I have imagined for her,” Kim continues in a statement.
