14 DAY TRIAL // Who knew Katy Perry held the Kardashians in such high regard? While most celebrities would rather avoid the topic of the most famous family in reality television and a few others have no qualms about trashing them in the press, this pop star says she’s actually a fan.
Speaking with ET Online at the MET Gala 2015 in New York (video below), Katy talked about her “Kris Jenner hair,” and since she was already on the topic, about how much she respected the matriarch - and the entire Kardashian clan.
On a related note, Katy Perry has the same knowledge of using air quotes as Joey from “Friends.”
The Kardashians are valid
In the brief red carpet interview, Katy talks about being the “anarchist” at the MET ball for not going with the theme of the evening, which was “China: Through the Looking Glass.” Instead, she wore a graffiti painted dress, and had a graffiti spray can purse and Moschino jewelry attached to her long fake nails.
Madonna was also one of the Moschino girls for the evening, and she too makes an appearance in the interview below.
Back to Katy, she says her nails make it impossible for her to run her fingers through her “Kris Jenner hair,” which is actually a wig - one that she’s shown off before on Twitter, while pranking her fans about having gotten a haircut.
“She has a great sense of humor and she's kind of like the mother of everyone,” she says of the Jenner momager. “I was thinking the other day, we've all had our own commentary on the Kardashians, but if they hadn't existed, we wouldn't have had the fantastic Bruce Jenner who is just evolving everybody right now with all of his wonderfulness. So, the Kardashians in my book are completely valid.”
So Katy is definitely team Kardashian, if you ever wondered about it.
The Kardashian - Jenner clan was also at the MET
Katy wasn’t just being polite about the Kardashians and Kris Jenner because she knew they were in attendance, since she only finds out about it from the ET reporter.
Indeed, the family had a strong showing at the fashionable event, starting with Kim Kardashian West, who walked the red carpet in a Beyonce copycat dress that was completely see-through and left very little to the imagination.
Kris Jenner made for a rather unfashionable appearance, even landing on several worst dressed lists, in a bright red dress with bad styling and even worse accessorizing.
Kendall Jenner, the model of the family, was truly the one who stood out, in a beaded green dress with lateral cut-outs. She is statuesque and beautiful, so she doesn’t need heavy makeup or complicated hairdos to work an outfit: her appearance on the MET Gala 2015 red carpet is proof of that.
