I hate to tell all those Jonas Brothers fans out there “I told you so,” but I totally told you so: almost 3 weeks after the band canceled their upcoming tour amidst rumors of a “deep rift,” comes the announcement that they have disbanded.
People magazine crossed paths with Kevin, Nick, and Joe and they confirm that they have split as a band because this format is no longer working out for them. Translation: they want to go their separate ways and grow as artists on their own.
It’s not like we haven’t seen it happen before and, in most cases, a reunion happened years later, so it’s a smart thing the Jonases are not shutting the door on that possibility.
“It's over for now,” says Kevin. “It's really hard to say ‘forever.’ We're closing a chapter, for sure,” Nick adds, while Joe chimes in to say “It was a unanimous decision.”
Nick was the one who confronted his brothers about wanting to get out of the band, during a meeting at the beginning of the month. He says he was “feeling kind of trapped,” which probably means that he thought he’d be a much better artist on his own.
I’m sure the millions of fans around the world would strongly disagree.
