The Jaws Franchise Hits the iPhone a iPod Touch Platforms

Bytemark Games and Universal Partnerships & Licensing, recently announced the release of their Jaws arcade-style game for iPhone and iPod touch. Based on the critically-acclaimed bestseller by Peter Benchley and directed by Steven Spielberg, Jaws is a thrilling film that managed to break box office records upon its release in 1975.

The story of the game takes place on the beautiful beaches of the summer resort town Amity Island, where the seaboard community is terrorized by a giant white shark.

The great white shark is very well known for its size, with the largest individuals known to have approached or exceeded 6 metres (20 ft) in length and 2,268 kilograms (5,000 lb) in weight.

The great white shark is arguably the world's largest known extant macro-predatory fish and is one of the primary predators of marine mammals.

Jaws for iPhone and iPod touch challenges players with the task of saving stranded swimmers from the namesake Great White.
